Beatriz Cortez Bio
Beatriz Cortez was born in El Salvador and has lived in the United States since 1989. As an artist, she explores memory and loss in the aftermath of a war and in relation to the experience of immigration. She holds a doctorate in Latin American literature from Arizona State University and a Masters in Studio Art from California State University, Northridge. She is a professor of Central American Studies at California State University, Northridge.
